Thank you for considering St Laurence's College. It’s a privilege for us to help shape young boys into young men through a holistic, individualised approach to education. Our standard enrolment intakes are Years 5 and 7, with families invited to submit applications for students two years prior to their preferred entry. You’re welcome to submit an Expression of Interest at any time and we’ll contact you when the enrolment process begins.

How to Enrol

Step 1: Express your Interest

Complete our online Expression of Interest form. This will place your son on the applicants list. There is no fee to be added to our database.

Step 2: Application for Enrolment

Two years prior to your son's nominated entry year, you will be contacted by the College to complete an Application for Enrolment. A $150 non-refundable application fee is payable at this time.

If you're not sure which year to submit your son's application, enter the date your child was born into the calculator above. 

Step 3: Enrolment Interview

Families who have completed an Application for Enrolment may be invited to attend an enrolment interview. 

Year 5 entry - Interviews will take place in Term 3, when your son is in Year 3.  

Year 7 entry - Interviews will take place in Term 1, when your son is in Year 5. 

A letter advising the result of the interview will be emailed two weeks after the interview period has concluded. 

Step 4: Acceptance Fee

To accept your offer, you will pay a $650 non-refundable acceptance fee and sign and return the Enrolment Contract by the due date.

Step 5: Begin at Lauries!

Your son will begin his Lauries Journey at his Orientation Day, held the year prior to his commencement.

Who can enrol at St Laurence's College?

The Principal of St Laurence’s College determines enrolments for the College.

In admitting students to the College, preference will generally be given to students in the following order:

  • Sons or Grandsons of St Laurence’s College Old Boys or College connections 
  • Catholic students from Catholic school
  • Non-Catholic students from Catholic schools 
  • Catholic students from non-Catholic schools

My son is not Catholic. Can we still enrol?

While preference is given to Catholic applicants, non-Catholic applications are welcome and are reviewed by the Principal.

What is the catchment area of the College?

The College is open to applicants from all over Brisbane.

Does the College provide a private bus service?

As an inner-city school, we have excellent access to public transport, and as such don't offer a private bus service. We're located next to the major bus and train stations in South Brisbane.

Does the College have feeder schools?

We accept students from many different schools.

How many students are accepted into the intake of Year 5 and Year 7?

Year 5: 168

Year 7: 122

Does the College have a 'sister school'?

We don't have a sister school as such, but have strong ties with a number of Catholic girls schools in the Brisbane area.

Do you have after school care?

We don't provide after school care however the Library is open until 5.30pm daily for students to complete their homework and academic assessment.

Do you have a sibling policy?

Yes, preference will be given to brothers of current students provided the application is submitted by the due date.
