About Manchester City Football School
Through the combined knowledge of one of the most successful football clubs in the world and one of the leading school football and sporting programs in Queensland, the Manchester City Football School at St Laurence's College aims to develop the next generation of footballers.
Our exclusive Manchester City Football Club Academy Head Coach Mr Jamie Davies with Assistant Coach Mr Colm Rafferty deliver the program, giving students access to training both in and outside of normal school hours year-round. Following a successful launch in 2023, the program has expanded to Years 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in 2025 with additional grades added each subsequent year.
Joining Manchester City Football School
Players who are not current students of St Laurence's College and are interested in joining the program must trial.
Entry into the program for 2025 and 2026 is now finalised. Trials for entry in Year 5 and 7 2027 will occur on the dates noted below.
While entry into the program is in alignment with our enrolment intakes, only limited places will be available for entry in Year 7.
Those interested in the program are encouraged to complete the Expression of Interest Form via the below link. This will ensure you will receive key information and updates relevant to your nominated year level.
Manchester City Football School Trials
All trials to gain entry into the Manchester City Football School are conducted in alignment with our enrolment processes (i.e. two years prior to entry into the College).
Trials and places for Year 5 and 7 2027 entry into the program will be completed as follows:
Year 7 2027 - Tuesday 25 February 2025
Year 5 2027 - Wednesday 13 August 2025
Registrations are now open for the trials for Year 7 2027! Included below are details regarding the upcoming trial:
Year 7 2027
Tuesday 25 February
4pm - 5.30pm
The trials will be held on Gair field, located at 82 Stephens Road, South Brisbane. All players are asked to bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and to wear their football playing kit including boots and shin pads.
Registrations for trials will close on Monday 24 February at 9am (or earlier if all available spaces are exhausted).

Manchester City Football School Information Evening
Families who are interested in learning more about the Manchester City Football School are encouraged to attend an information evening in 2025 on Wednesday 6 August. On the night, the team will share the details of the program, the trial process, inclusions and other opportunities for participants.
Registrations are now open via the below link. Families may also wish to register their attendance for a Principals Tours on the same evening, which can be completed at time of registration.
Manchester City Football School Holiday Clinic
In 2025, St Laurence's College will proudly host two holiday clinics in the July and September school holidays. Details regarding dates and age groups are included below:
Wednesday 9 - Friday 11 July
8-10 Year Old Boys
8-14 Year Old Girls (final year level participants will be confirmed based on interest)
Monday 22 - Wednesday 24 September
11-13 Year Old Boys
8-14 Year Old Girls (final year level participants will be confirmed based on interest)
During the three days, participants will experience a combination of on field skills training and in-class coaching under the direction of the Manchester City Football School Head Coach Mr Jamie Davies and Assistant Coach Mr Colm Rafferty. Participants are required to attend all three days and do not need to be a current Lauries student.
