ACER Advance Awards for Schools

Earlier this year, a number of Year 8 and 9 students took part in the ACER Advance Awards for Schools, completing two 45 minute tests for numeracy and literacy. This program was open to high ability students and is designed to measure students’ problem solving and reasoning abilities and encourage them to use their higher order thinking skills to apply known concepts to new situations. The participating students did a commendable job, with four students receiving a Distinction for their efforts: Liam Pipia (Yr 8), Harry Dobbin (Yr 9), Ji Jenkins (Yr 9) and Harry Ward (Yr 9).
