Recruiting now | Mater Parent Aide Unit volunteers
The team at Mater Health are currently recruiting for volunteers to support the Mater Parent Aide Unit.
This is an early intervention program offering support to isolated and vulnerable families with a baby up to the age of two years. The program has been operating on Brisbane’s southside for over 40 years assisting hundreds of families by providing emotional support, practical assistance, and encouragement in parenting.
We are currently recruiting experienced mothers and grandmothers who have some time available during the week and are interested in offering support to another family in their community. Referrals to the Parent Aide Unit come from midwives and social workers at Mater Mothers Hospital, as well as from child health nurses and other community services.
Interested volunteers are provided with six days of initial training, with catering and parking included, at no cost.
