From the Music Department
Intermediate Music Camp
Last weekend, our Intermediate Ensembles – Concert Band 2, String Orchestra 2, Guitar Orchestra 2 and Little Brotherhood enjoyed a series of workshops and rehearsals which provided an invaluable opportunity to further enhance their ensemble skills and culminated in a concert held for family and friends on Sunday in ERPAC.
We would like to extend special thanks to old boys; Joe Fallon and Aaron Netto who assisted with tutoring at the camp.
Open Day
Big thanks to members of Big Band 1, String Orchestra 1, Guitar Orchestra 1, the student Rock Band and all other music students who assisted with the Open Day yesterday. Feedback has been incredibly positive and is always wonderful to see Lauries Music showcased for the College community.
We’d also like to thank members of the LMSG who attended to support the department and promote upcoming events.
Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival | 15-18 AUG
Most of the SLC Ensembles will be participating in this year’s Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival (QCMF) at Villanova. The performance schedule is now available on the Lauries App under ‘Music’. There are also invitations for each ensemble in parent lounge.
