Around the Grounds – Sports Wrap Up
Last Saturday the College played Iona in our Round 1 Fixtures. The Tennis matches were fiercely contested, with SLC and Iona sharing the day. A big highlight, though, was our First IV who defeated Iona 5 – 3 in what was a terrific match.
In Basketball, our boys put in a great effort across all grades, with good results coming in Years 8, 9 and 10, where most of our teams had strong wins.
Rugby League on the weekend was played at split venues, with the Junior Teams playing at Marist and the Senior Teams playing at Villanova. It was a tough day for Lauries, with Iona winning the majority of games played, proving what a strong Rugby League school they are. A highlight of the day was our Year 7 teams, who both had strong wins.
This coming weekend, Lauries will be playing both St Peters and Ambrose Treacy in Round 2 fixtures, and best of luck to all teams involved.
