Year 12 Finishing Strongly

This week marks the transition to our second phase of the Finishing Strongly program. Phase 1 offers Year 12 students the opportunity to engage with subject masterclass, QTAC application support and tertiary institutions guest speakers. Masterclasses provide students the opportunity for targeted external exam preparation in elected subject areas, study skill development and QTAC applications. Careers Counsellor, Ms Dyer has worked closely with the Year 12 cohort to ensure all 2024 graduates are prepared for a successful transition to their post-school pathway. The Finishing Strongly program provided another opportunity for Ms Dyer to extend her expertise to the masterclasses, providing students with additional support in planning QTAC applications, course preferencing and scholarship preparation.

Phase 2 of the Finishing Strongly program develops students’ understanding of external assessment processes and examination technique through a mock external exam block. Mock exams simulate the external exam experience, providing students and teachers with important feedback to inform teaching and learning strategies for the final weeks of classes. Simulating the external exam experience, enhances student confidence in their final exams. Students are encouraged to use this two-week period to deliberately focus on continuing to develop study habits and organisation skills.

We wish our year 12s a successful mock exams experience before a well-deserved September holidays!
