State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP)

Congratulations to the following students who took part in the State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) over the school holidays.

Australian State Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP)

Congratulations also to the Hugh Morley who took part in the Australian State Honours Ensemble Program (AHEP) over the school holidays. 

Membership in the AHEP ensembles is determined through a rigorous audition process and includes some of the top performers in the State. 

Both SHEP & AHEP programs are run through Griffith Universities, Queensland Conservatorium, and are an intensive weekend for students with a series of workshops with some of Queensland’s eminent conductors. It is also an exciting and unique opportunity for students to work & perform with peers from across the state. 

Annual Senior Music Camp | 13-15 October | QCCC Mapleton

The 2025 Music Year will kickstart with the Senior Ensembles Music Camp at the QCCC in Mapleton (Sunshine Coast) from 13-15 October. 

This camp will provide an opportunity for team building among the new ensembles and for students to expand their musicals skills. 

Jazz Music Institute (JMI) Youth Program | 12 Oct – 30 Nov 2024

Jazz Music Institute, Bowen Hills Youth Program is designed for current high school students (ages 12 to 17 years old) who love music and are looking to further their musical development with like-minded peers. This program is the perfect preparation for students looking to study music after high school or for young musicians that just want to keep developing.

The program is delivered in an 8-week term for 2 hours on Saturday afternoons delivered by some of JMI’s esteemed faculty. Classes are held in small groups of up to 9 students within a fun and supportive learning environment.

These classes are open to all instrumentalists, drummers and vocalists.

Classes are held on Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm at JMI’s campus in Bowen Hills for 8-week terms.
