Lauries Sports Program – Year End Reflection

It’s remarkable to reflect on the past 12 months. This year has been amazing, marked by exceptional involvement, impressive results and an incredible sense of enjoyment within our Sports Program.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the College Leadership Team for their unwavering support. Our Principals, Mr Chris Leadbetter and now Mr Ben Lowrie, have played a crucial role in fostering a culture where sport can thrive. Their strong leadership has been invaluable and we are fortunate to have such dedicated advocates guiding us forward.

I also want to extend my thanks to our dedicated Sports Department: Mr Pat Richards, Mr Sam Wiltshire, Mr Sean O'Connor, Mr Alex Barnes and Mr Miguel Nydam. Your tireless efforts have created an environment where our students can excel both on and off the field.

A special acknowledgment goes to Mr Jamie Davies, our Manchester City Schools Head Coach. His professionalism and passion have left a lasting impact on our students and the broader sports community. Last weekend’s Man City Lauries Cup, hosted by the College, was a tremendous success, bringing joy to parents, staff and students alike.

To the parents who have supported their sons' sporting journeys throughout 2024, thank you. Your encouragement and involvement are vital to the success of our program. Finally, a massive thank you to the students of St Laurence's College. Your exceptional participation and sportsmanship continue to inspire us and make us proud.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday period and here's to another year of success, growth and shared achievements in the Lauries Sports Program!
