Around the Grounds – Sports Wrap-Up, Round 2
Week 2 of our fixtures against St. Pat’s was a fantastic success, with strong performances across Cricket, AFL, and Volleyball. Our AFL program continued its impressive form, and the First XVIII delivered a commanding victory in front of a lively crowd at Yeronga.
In Cricket, results were evenly split across the board, but a special mention goes to our 1st XI for securing their first win of the season. After a slow start while batting, the team showed resilience to post a competitive total and then backed it up with a solid bowling performance to restrict St. Pat’s and seal the win.
Volleyball was another highlight of the week, with Lauries hosting all fixtures. Our teams put on a dominant display, winning nearly every match and securing victory in all but one Aggregate game. The 1st VI continued their strong form, taking their match in straight sets, 3-0.
Looking ahead, our teams will face off against St. Edmund’s College this week, with Senior Fixtures played away. Best of luck to all players!

The first Inter-House competition of the year kicks off next week, with Volleyball leading the charge! Matches will take place during morning tea and lunch breaks daily, with plenty of exciting battles expected as Houses go head-to-head. Get ready for some fierce competition and school spirit in action!
