Around the Grounds – Sports Wrap Up, Round 6
In Round 6, St Laurence’s College faced off against traditional rivals, Iona College, in all age groups of Volleyball and four Cricket matches, including the First XI. The competition was fierce, with outstanding performances across all age divisions. In Volleyball, results were mixed throughout the day, but the 1st VI unfortunately fell short in a tightly contested match against Iona’s undefeated team. Despite the loss, the match was played at an exceptional standard, and there are plenty of positives to take away for our young team.
In Cricket, the First XI started strong but ultimately couldn’t overcome a very skilled Iona side. The team showed determination and moments of brilliance, highlighting their potential for future games.
Final Week of Term 1 Sport
As we head into the final week of Term 1 sport, the College will face St Peters Lutheran College. Several teams across all sports are in contention for a premiership or an undefeated season, making for an exciting weekend ahead. Additionally, the overall AFL Aggregate result is set to go down to the wire.
To our senior students playing their last game of Cricket, AFL, or Volleyball for the College—thank you. Your dedication and contributions have been outstanding and we all hope you finish your sporting journey at the College with a victory in the Black and Gold!
Term 2 Sport
Looking ahead, Term 2 sport is just around the corner. A reminder that all Sport Information books are available on the College App. Trials and internal selections for Term 2 sports will take place on March 28th and 29th, so please ensure you are prepared and ready for the new season.
Best of luck to all teams this weekend!
