Manchester City Football School Update
Entering its second year, the Manchester City Football School at St Laurence’s College has enjoyed remarkable on-field success whilst also making significant strides in player development and positively influencing sport at the College as a whole.
Highlights of the year include:
- Our Year 6 boys picking up an ‘undefeated season’ and Premierships won in the 7A, 7B and 8A divisions in the AIC Football Competition.
- The 7A team clinching the title at the prestigious National EREA Schools’ tournament, where the boys displayed outstanding individual play combined with game understanding in each match culminating in a 4-1 win in the Grand Final over St Joseph’s Nudgee College to secure a second successive Year 7 tournament win.
- Holiday Clinics in June and September, with a combined 100+ boys and girls from the wider community enjoying an opportunity to enhance their football skills over the school holidays.
- The boys were given the opportunity to pose questions to Man City Women’s First Team and Matildas star, Mary Fowler, in a combined Q & A event with our five Australian Manchester City Football Schools.
- Whilst travelling overseas, several of the boys visited the City Football Academy in Manchester to experience training sessions, attend stadium tours and watch live English Premier League matches at the Etihad Stadium.
The Manchester City Football School Program will continue to grow in 2025 with a new cohort of students joining the ranks.
Trials and places for Year 5 and 7 2027 entry into the program will be completed as follows:
- Year 7 2027 - Tuesday 25 February 2025
- Year 5 2027 - Wednesday 13 February 2025

Please note, all confirmed incoming students (i.e. Year 5 2025 students) do not need to trial. We recommend your son participates in the AIC Football Season upon commencement at the School where your son's performance will be assessed for potential participation in the program in the future.
