Thank you to the huge number of families and students who have donated to the 2024 ILF Book Swap. Once again, it really has been an overwhelming response and goes to show much our SLC community can rally behind a great cause! Many students and staff were able to purchase beautiful books this week to add to their home collections.
Remaining books will be donated to Care Kits for Kids, which is Treacy House’s charity initiative. Treacy House will put together kits for kids who have to flee domestic violence situations. Our beautiful books will hopefully help those kids to feel some comfort in difficult circumstances.
All funds raised this week go to the Indigenous Literacy Fund. The ILF will use the money to run literacy programs for adults and children in indigenous communities and fund projects for Indigenous authors to produce books in their own language for the youth of their community.
