Year 5 Music Program
Congratulations to all the students and staff involved in the Queensland Catholic Colleges Music Festival at Villanova last week. The College was well represented in the various performances, and students can be proud of their results. In total, the College earned 11 Gold, 5 Silver, and 1 Bronze award.
Awards involving the Year 5 & 6 students as follows:
Concert Band 3 – Bronze
Big Band 3 – Gold
String Orchestra 2 - Silver
String Orchestra 3 – Silver
Guitar Orchestra 2 - Gold
Treblehood - Gold
Cambiata - Silver
This week has seen the start of our End of Year Concert Series with the Concert Bands performing at the Band Blast Concert on Wednesday night and String Orchestras at the Strictly Strings concert on Thursday night.
Still to come is our Choral & Guitar concert, showcasing Treblehood & Cambiata and the Guitar Finale Concert on Thursday 5 September which will feature Guitar Orchestra 2 & the Year 5 Guitar Ensemble.
These End of Year concerts also mark the final performances for our Year 5 ensembles and with the Year 5 Music program ending in a few weeks, it is a timely reminder for families to submit their enrolment contracts if they would like to continue their musical journey with Lauries.
